My Last Day

Today is my last day off before my return to work. I'm, of course, sad. I knew I had to go back, it's not even an option to stay home. I am totally doing this so the girls can continue to have nice things.

I am so thankful I got to spend as much time with them both as I have. Not everyone gets this opportunity. I feel so blessed to have bonded with them like this so far, my going back to work- albeit 3 days a week is going to give Andrew the same opportunity to bond with his girls as I have.

I'm being such a sap, but these pictures and moments I'll treasure forever.

These outfits are 0-3 months- pretty huge on my tiny little girls. But they looks absolutely adorable for our family photo shoot!

Bria first selfie! Getting ready for church! Their first church service 9-29-13!!
Ella looks insanely terrified!
Sporting their headbands I made! Bria's was a tad too big!
The girls sleot through most of the first half of the WVU vs Oklahoma State game on 9-28-13, not getting up until 1:15, but when they finally did wake up- they looked super stinking cute! (Also in homemade headbands!) I am dying to get the rest of the supplies to make more!!

Ella said Lets Go! Bria was not amused!
Ella is out girl of many faces-- well Bria pretty much is too!
Love them both!
Such a little model!

6 Weeks.... Already?!?

Miss Bria Cole
Little Miss Ellie Faith

Happy 6 Weeks Baby Girls!

This is my last full week home with the girls and this time next week I'll be dying at work, waiting for 8pm so I can run home and see my beautiful babies!

I had to publicly apologize on Facebook to my sister about making fun of her last year when she went back to work & left Kayleigh. I'm definitely eating my words ugh!

We planned on taking our beauties to church Sunday and their amazing sleep patterns got the best of us and we all went back to bed- and woke up at 11! Yikes! We will try for their first church service next week!

So I decided to do a comparison and I cannot believe how much Ella has changed!! We are so proud of those cheeks and double chin!!

Bri is looking more grown up every day! We are still in newborn clothes and diapers we tried size 1 diapers but they were still too big!

We are going to get family pictures done on Friday! There are just some photos that we didn't get and since we never get to do this again, I don't want to forget any of it! I picked out outfits for them to wear but they are 0-3! I sure hope they don't like ginormous! :)

A Day In The Life of 5 Week Old Twins!

I feel like I need to update, but since all I do is pump, feed the babies, change diapers, wash and make bottles and do dishes- I'm not sure what to update. So I should do a Day In The Life of 5.5 week old twins!

First feeding of the night is at 1230-130. Anywhere around that time. We usually feed the girls their last bottle of the previous day at 9 and in swings/bed by 930.

I should pump then, but I don't. We change and feed both girls and usually Bria has pulled a #2 while eating so Andrew changes her again. Then, back to sleep.

Next feed is anywhere from 330-430. Same scenario. Except I pump. I make myself sit there until I get at least 8 oz. if I'm going strong still- I wait until I'm dry.

Andrews alarm goes off at either 645 or 7.. Depending - and that's when at least one of them is ready for their bottle. Usually Ella. I feed her or both..

Then between the hours of 8-930am I pump, which takes at least 20-30 minutes. (I try to eat while pumping).

Wash bottles
Make bottles
Load or unload the dishwasher
**in the meantime, the girls are super grunty and I have to run in and out of the bedroom like 10 times.

Finally around 930/10 they are ready to eat again. Sometimes I can get them back to sleep, sometimes not. I change their pajamas into clothes. And if they are awake- I let them stretch out and play I the floor. Ella and Bria may drift off for about 1/2 hr but by this time- one is eating when one is sleeping. It's good and its bad. Good- I don't have a crying, screaming baby putting pressure on me to make the other baby finish their bottle and burp. Bad- one is always up.
Sometimes I can get lucky and get them to nap together, sometimes not. Around 1- they are ready for another feeding. This time they usually stay up for an hour or so.
Sometimes I get to eat sometimes not...

By 330-4pm- Andrew is home! Thank god! Although he normally naps so it really doesn't make a difference. But-- it's time for another feeding. This time they usually have a good nap. I try to get a good pump here..

6/7pm another feeding.. I finally get to pump again! Then before their 9-930 feeding we start bedtime bath! I eat somewhere in between there and sometimes I don't! I forget a lot of times!

The repeat!! I'm getting used to it by myself. I only had help on Tuesday this last week and it was nice- I got to go to Walmart!

It's not glamourous- I rarely get to shower. Don't judge. Definitely don't get to straighten my hair! But I will surely miss this when I have to return to work on October 1st! :( Waaaahhhhh..

We tried out the moby! Bria didn't like it the first time- she was super hungry! The second time was much better but I think I had it too loose! I should carry it around with me!! I totally could have used it at Walmart today!

Here are my stylish little ladies! Love them!

Ready for Brooklyn and Eyan's soccer game!

Hello Big Girls

So their entire lives (5 short weeks) their weights were of concern. I do now have confirmation that Ella stopped growing in the womb. Andrew and I guessed it all along, but they just said we had low fluid and that's why they were inducing us. However, the follow up hospital phone call, the nurse said Ella was making up for all the growing she didn't do inside. Bingo.

Ella:
Birth 8-13-13: 4lbs 13 ounces
At one point in the hospital was 4lbs 5 ounces.
At discharge 8-17-13: 4lbs 7/8 ounces
Next day appointment 8-18-13 : 4lbs 9 ounces
1st Peds Appt 8-19-13: 4lbs 11.5 ounces!
2nd Peds Appt 8-26-13: 5 lbs 2 ounces!!!!!!
3rd Peds Appt 9-3-13: 6 lbs 1.5 ounces!!!!!!
4th Peds Appt 9-16-13: a whopping 7lbs 5 ounces-- you have got to be kidding me! Bria- you better watch out!

Even though she is about 1/2 pound less tan Bria- she still feels much smaller..

Bria:
Birth 8-13-13 6lbs 10.5 ounces
At one point in hospital: 6lbs 4 ounces
At discharge 8-17-13 : 6lbs 6 ounces
Next day appointment 8-18-13 : 6lbs 7 ounces
1st Peds Appt 8-19-13: 6lbs 8.5 ounces
2nd Peds Appt 8-26-13: 6lbs 11.5 ounces
3rd Peds Appt 9-3-13: 7lbs 4.5 ounces
4th Peds Appt 9-16-13: 8lbs even!

Our pediatrician said she didn't gain a huge amount of weight, but she is gaining and eating appropriately and they sent concerned. They say they gain an ounce a day.. It was 13 days and she gained almost 12 ounces- doesn't seem that bad to me!

I am so incredibly proud of my little ladies!

Outtake #1- looooove Bria's face in this!

My heart couldn't be more full! ❤❤❤

Our Newborn Photos!

A friend of mine from college messaged me a month before having the twins asking if she could take their newborn photos as practice. I had always assumed I would take them- since these beauties are the only reason I bought my amazing DSLR Nikon D90! But- who can turn down free photos?! So we said yes and brainstormed ideas and it couldn't have been more perfect. It took 3 hours, Ella peed all over her props & Bria peed and pooped on Daddy, but other than that- perfect! Haha!
